CIEE Advanced Liberal Arts Program:
The program is designed for students with an advanced level of Spanish to help them develop fluency through direct matriculation in a wide range of regular university classes (Anthropology, Art History, Business, Catalan Language and Literature, Economy, Education, Geography, History, International Relations, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Spanish Literature and Linguistics, Studio Art). The program offers a track for Heritage Learners. Requirements: 6 semesters of college-level Spanish.

CIEE Architecture and Design Program:
The Architecture and Design program is designed for students interested in exploring the intersection of the two fields in a city famous for its vibrant architecture and innovative design. The program is separated into two tracks: architecture and design. All students enroll in the CIEE core course, The City and the Visual Culture. Architecture students also take the six-credit CIEE Architecture Studio and either an additional elective at ELISAVA (taught in Spanish) or a CIEE elective (taught in English). Design students take two to four electives, chosen from courses at ELISAVA or CIEE courses. Students from either track with at least five prior semesters of college-level Spanish or the equivalent may choose the CIEE Internship as an elective.

CIEE Business and Culture Program:
This program is designed for students with all level of Spanish and a strong interest in business and economics. Students who are motivated to develop and improve their Spanish language skills and learn about Spain and Europe through living in the unique and beautiful city of Barcelona will find that this program provides an ideal opportunity. Language of instruction is in English or Spanish depending on the level of the student. Requirements: 3 semesters of micro- or macroeconomics, accounting, finance, management, marketing, or statistics.

CIEE Language and Culture Program:
This program is designed for students who wish to develop their skills and competency in the Spanish language while studying Spanish history, arts, politics, and culture by directly enrolling in regular university classes related to their major fields of study. Students who wish to learn about Spain and Europe through living in the unique and beautiful city of Barcelona will find that this program provides an ideal opportunity. Language of instruction is in English or Spanish depending on the level of the student. Requirements: Junior year status and 1 prior semester college-level Spanish.

CIEE Liberal Arts Program:
This program is designed for students with four or more semesters of Spanish who are interested in significant improvement to their language skills while taking classes in Spanish history, politics, art, and culture courses in Spanish. Students complete an intensive Spanish language course that meets for the first three weeks of the semester and then choose among advanced language electives for the remainder of the semester. In addition, students select three courses from a selection of Hispanic and European Studies Program (HESP) courses, taught in Spanish, specifically designed for international students and regular, direct enrollment UPF courses. All students must take at least one direct enrollment course at UPF. All courses are taught in Spanish.

CIEE Summer Program:
If you want to study either business or Spanish culture and art (in either Spanish or English) in this vibrant and exciting city during the summer, this program is for you! You will be surrounded by students who are preparing to work in the realm of public or private business with an international focus.
