Arts and Sciences Program (AS): The CIEE Arts and Sciences Program, founded in 2005, is designed for students with advanced Spanish language skills and a strong academic background. Students take classes with both US and Spanish students at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, supplemented by elective courses internship or professional teach development offered by CIEE. The host institution is in a first and unique position in Spain to offer regular university courses with Spaniards that follow a US style academic system with classes starting in September and final exams in December. If you are ready to undertake the challenge of studying within a midsize public Spanish university alongside Spanish students; if you have at least five semesters of college level Spanish; if you have an overall GPA of 3.0, a Spanish language GPA of 3.0, and a strong desire to participate in the Spanish university system as Spaniards do - then this program is right for you.

Legal Studies Program (LS): Established in 2008, the Legal Studies program offers students at the advanced language level to improve their Spanish with legal terminology and through coursework focuses on law, public policy, and political science. In addition, students have the opportunity to choose an optional law related internship for credit and directly enroll in regular university courses with Spaniards at the Law Department of the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. If students are planning to apply for a US Law School program, this unique program will complement any academic resume geared towards a selective admission process.
