Liberal Arts Program (LA): The CIEE Liberal Arts program began in 1971 and is designed for students at the advanced level to improve their spoken and written Spanish while pursuing coursework in a variety of subjects. In addition to a range of courses offered by CIEE, students can also choose to directly enroll in a Universidad de Sevilla or Universidad Pablo de Olavide course. If you have at least two and one half years of college-level Spanish, a keen interest in Spanish society, and if you are looking for an opportunity to completely immerse yourself in Spanish culture by speaking only Spanish - in class, at your place of residence, and with fellow program participants - then, this program is ideal for you.

Advanced Liberal Arts Program (ALA): The CIEE Advanced Liberal Arts Program, founded in 1994, is designed for students with advanced Spanish language skills and a strong academic background. Students take the majority of their classes with Spanish students at the Universidad de Sevilla and/or Universidad Pablo de Olavide, supplemented by a variety of courses offered by CIEE. If you are ready to undertake the challenge of studying within the Universidad de Sevilla alongside Spanish students in their degree program; if you have had at least three years of college-level Spanish language studies; if you have an overall GPA of 3.0, a Spanish language GPA of 3.0, and a strong desire to participate in the Spanish university system as Spaniards do - then this program is right for you.

Business and Society Program (BS): Established in 1986, the Business and Society program offers students at the advanced language level the opportunity to solidify their Spanish language skills while gaining an understanding of economic and business management in Spain and the European Union through a combination of coursework, related lectures, internships, and company visits. In addition, students have the opportunity to directly enroll in regular university courses. If you are studying business and want to learn more about business in Spain and the European Union, the CIEE Business & Society Program at the Universidad de Sevilla is for you. The program offers a core of business and economics courses as well as electives in the humanities. If your Spanish is excellent, you are also encouraged to take courses alongside Spanish students working on degrees in Business Administration.

Language and Society Program (LS): Established in 1985, the CIEE Language and Society program is geared towards intermediate level language students who want to see a marked improvement in their language skills while gaining an understanding of Spanish culture. Coursework combines intensive language and content courses.This program is designed for students at the intermediate Spanish language level with an interest in improving their Spanish language skills and learning about Spanish culture.

International Business and Culture Program (IBCP): The CIEE International Business and Culture program, founded in 2005, is geared towards students with beginning to intermediate language skills who wish to improve their Spanish language skills while taking courses in English, primarily in the field of international business. This program is designed for students who have 0-4 semesters of previous Spanish language study and a strong interest in business and economics. Students who are motivated to develop their Spanish language skills and learn about Spain and Europe through living in the traditional Spanish city of Sevilla will find that this program provides an ideal opportunity.

Teaching Development Program (TDP): The CIEE Teaching Development program, founded in 2005, is designed for students who are considering a career in education, specifically in teaching foreign languages. Students take courses with a focus on education and teaching through CIEE and with Spanish students at the Universidad de Sevilla and/or the Universidad Pablo de Olavide (UPO). Students may also register for CIEE classes offered through the Liberal Arts Program. If you have a minimum of 5 semesters of college-level Spanish and are considering a career in education, particularly teaching a foreign language, this program is for you.

Summer Internship Program: This program offers a unique opportunity for students to increase their business vocabulary, immerse themselves both linguistically and professionally in a foreign setting, and gain practical experience on the job. The Internship program incorporates an intensive Spanish for Students of Business course, which increases the student’s business vocabulary and conversational skills, and an internship in a local Spanish company. For the internship, students complete a minimum of 120 hours of on-site work, conduct a research project, and participate in weekly seminars, which involve training in public speaking and leadership. If you are looking for an opportunity to gain practical experience working in a foreign company and to improve your Spanish language skills, this program is perfect for you. Whether or not you're pursuing an international career, an internship in Spain will help you develop a unique perspective on business approaches that will benefit you in any career path.

Summer Language and Culture Program: The Spanish Language and Culture program focuses on two interwoven areas: Spanish language and Spanish culture and history. Special emphasis is placed on Andalusia and its capital Seville, within a European context. If you are in search of a language immersion experience in Spain and a chance to learn more about Spanish culture, then this program is perfect for you. If your interests are in the field of politics and economics, or history, culture or literature, and you are looking for a productive summer study abroad experience in a Spanish setting, then this program has the options you need.

Teach Andalucía: In cooperation with the Junta de Andalucía, CIEE has developed a Language and Culture Assistant Program in public bilingual schools in the Autonomous Region of Andalusia. The program was initiated to make education in Spain both multilingual and multicultural, thus helping to develop cultural understanding between the citizens of Spain and the United States. Program participants have the opportunity to learn more about Spanish language and culture while providing Spanish students and teachers of English an opportunity to broaden and increase their knowledge of the English language and American culture through interaction with native speakers. Placement assignments are in rural areas, towns, and cities in the Autonomous Region of Andalusia. Program participants work under the supervision and guidance of a classroom teacher and have a teaching load of 12 hours per week.
