The IFSA-Butler program in Málaga, Spain, offers students a full integration experience, both academic and local. Students, which may enroll for the fall semester, spring semester, or the full academic year, take program-specific courses but also regular university courses, just like Spanish degree-seeking students. They are housed by carefully selected host families, which ensures a rich linguistic, cultural, and social experience.

The program in Málaga begins with a mandatory orientation, during which students receive information on IFSA-Butler regulations and topics such as Spanish culture, basics of day-to-day living, academic regulations, the differences between Spanish and American universities, housing rules, and dealing with emergencies.

IFSA-Butler office in Málaga is staffed by IFSA-Butler program staff. The resident director organizes housing, excursions, orientation, and other program-sponsored activities. The program staff assists students through their course selection process and help them with any specific academic issues that come up. In case of an emergency, students can reach the office staff after hours and on weekends for additional assistance.
