APUNE programs share the objective of promoting quality studies in Spanish for students that participate in their study abroad programs in Spain. Member programs are evaluated every 7 years in an ongoing process to renew areas and reinforce positive aspects of their activities.

Programs in the Association represent accredited North American Colleges and Universities which offer undergraduate and graduate students to study abroad for a summer, semester or full academic year. Classes offered include Spanish language and literature, as well as History, International Relations, Economics, Business, Art History, Sociology, Anthropology, Latin American and European Studies.

There are three types of programs:

  • Island Programs- Programs in separate buildings offering courses only for their students.

  • Mixed Programs- Programs based in Spanish Universities offering courses only for their students with the possibility of taking Spanish University courses.

  • Direct Enrollment Programs- Programs where the students register directly in regular Spanish University courses.
