XIII Edition of the Spanish and North American Universities Conference

“Beyond nostalgia: the future of language and culture in study abroad”

In this XIII edition of the Spanish and North American Universities Conference we want to address how to maintain the connection of students with the Spanish language and culture. Especially in a period in which they are permanently connected with their country of origin through social networks, and in a university environment in which the offer of courses in English is forever increasing. The meeting will take place at the University of Alicante.

We propose to reflect on how to adapt the teaching of language and culture, without losing the essence of either, to prepare students for a changing global environment, and on the need to maintain a linguistic and cultural link in English studies.

APUNE will offer a special workshop on strengthening relations between Spanish universities and those of the United States. It will take place on February 27 and will include presentations and break-out sessions. The workshop will take place at the Centro Superior de Idiomas at the University of Alicante.

The conference will also explore how to facilitate students integration into a world of work that is constantly demanding new skills and abilities, while providing them with resilience and adaptability.

The conference will also count on the invaluable support of VithasYou2CallHM HospitalesAsisaLópez Hermoso AbogadosLodgerinClínica CorachanCotown and Viajes Iverem.

We look forward to seeing you there!
