A nonprofit, nongovernmental organization, CIEE (Council on International Educational Exchange) is the country’s oldest and largest nonprofit study abroad and intercultural exchange organization. Since 1947, CIEE has helped thousands of people gain the knowledge and skills necessary to live and work in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world by offering the most comprehensive, relevant, and valuable exchange programs available.

At CIEE, we create opportunities that help bring people together. We foster the development of understanding and mutual respect between communities and nations by promoting the exchange of ideas and experiences. We help give students, teachers, and young professionals from across the world skills that make them active and responsible global citizens.

Barcelona Study Abroad programs
CIEE Barcelona is conveniently located near Barcelona’s main square, Plaça de Catalunya.

Madrid Study Abroad programs
Their Center in Madrid is part of the CIEE Open Campus Block Network. Located near the Puerta de Sol, the Institute includes classrooms, lounges, Wi-Fi, and full-time staff.

Seville Study Abroad programs
CIEE Seville housed in a beautifully renovated palace built in 1725.

Alcalá de Henares Study Abroad programs
At the Instituto Benjamin Franklin, students study at the institute’s beautiful and modern home. Founded in 1499, the University of Alcalá hosts about 29,000 students in the city center where they study in renovated 16th and 17th century buildings. 

Palma de Mallorca Study Abroad programs
CIEE Palma occupies the second floor of ELE USAL, a language academy affiliated with Universidad de Salamanca.

Alicante Study Abroad programs
Conveniently located on the main campus of the University of Alicante (Universidad de Alicante in San Vicente), CIEE Alicante is situated in the northwestern region of the city, roughly 20 minutes from top sites like the Santa Barbara Castle and Parc de l’Ereta.
